"Life is about what you create, what you conquer & what you aim to achieve."
This summer I am the public relations intern at DDCworks, which is a full-service agency that brings together all the disciplines you need under one roof: branding, advertising, public relations, media, digital, and social media located in Philadelphia. My responsibilities include drafting press releases, media alerts and blog posts, as well as creating extensive media lists, promoting events and pitching to the media via email and phone. Although I work on a variety of accounts in the fields of nonprofits, restaurant franchises and manufacturing, most of my work is in healthcare.
Taking a professor's advice, I joined the UMD's chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) in fall 2012. After a semester of active membership, I was eager to gain hands-on experience in the field. Since then I have served as the chapter's treasurer and am currently the communications director of the PRSSA 2014 National Conference.

After establishing a relationship through my PR internship at Pivot Point Communications, I have served as the media coordinator for BioOne since November 2013. BioOne is a nonprofit organization operating on a cost-recovery basis, BioOne provides a balanced, low-cost alternative to restrictive commercial publishers without sacrificing the quality research, global reach, and flexible technology that librarians and their patrons require. I manage the company's Twitter account, posting 50 times per week, producing weekly analytics and assisting with additional client needs.

I have recently been selected as a University of Maryland PRSSA Bateman team member. I'm eager to find out the client for this year's competition and start researching with my team.
